and so it looks like that (in plastic)! The famous Lichtenberg design is named after German physicist Georg Christoph Lichtenberg. He'd recorded the patterns in 1777- in what seems like an equally complex manner.

The artist's website is also a lil psychedelic. He explains how, in a youtube vid (no, it does not involve flying a kite in wet weather).
